only in dreams

So, this^ is what I've been doing all day, and I should be doing it now.  but I needed a little break
{as is evidenced by the following story}

Last night I had a dream.
In my dream I was on my way to take my state board exam.
While driving to the exam site, I got a phone call.
From 'future Christine'.
Not far-off-future, just like four-hours-in-the-future-Christine.
And she was calling to update me on how the exam went.
I was so frickin' excited that future-Christine had already taken the NCLEX for me and that I didn't need to do it anymore!
But then she broke the news that she hadn't actually completed it, so I still needed to go and finish it.
Thanks a lot, Christine.
thanks. a. lot.

What is a girl to do when she can't even count on her future-self to do her dirty work?  Sheesh.

And with that being said, I'm pretty sure the State Board of Nursing is trying to
crush my fragile psyche.

things to do, people to see

Please excuse my absence as I've been busy having an awesome staycation with my in-laws who came into town.  Sadly, they're now gone and our house is feeling kinda empty.  I have about 1,200 pictures to share. literally.  no joke.  But seeing as I have my state board exam on Wednesday morning, it might be wise to study instead of going through them and reminiscing on all the fun.  So, until Wednesday, I bid you adieu.  And feel free to send out a little prayer that I actually retained something from the past three years.

over the weekend...

...some changes were made,

ice cream was eaten,

Sam decided these would "make great camping shoes",

lovely peonies were enjoyed,

and a little sunshine & scenery were soaked in.

mottos

dress: Target, shoes: Report, belt: thrifted, necklace: Kohls

Not that you could see it underneath that voluminous black graduation gown, but this is what I was wearing as I walked across the stage to receive my diploma and get pinned with the imaginary nursing pin that I did not purchase.  My motto is, 'If you can't wear over-sized faux gems to graduation, then where can you?'.  Okay, that was really only my motto on Monday, along with 'Peace out term papers and forum posts--you won't be missed'.

I'm good at mottos.

Also, you have to go check out the little grad party a couple of my nursing friends threw for me.  So hilarious & gross, but mostly hilarious in my humble and over-exposed to bodily fluids on a daily basis opinion.

Here's a little preview:

manhood

So, one of Jon's fave hobbies is seeing what he can fit into his mouth.  Why?  Because he's a male.
Anyway, the other night Jon had the urge to show Sam that he could fit Sam's whole fist into his mouth--probably with the expectation of  awe and amazement on the part of Sam {an induction into a hobby of manhood, if you will}.  Instead, Sam's look of excited anticipation quickly turned to horror.

"It's not an apple or a pear! It's just my hand.  An' I need it ta build stuff!"

He then ran over to his legos and proceeded to begin building.  "I'm the coolest kid at building."

They are quite the pair, those two.

take a good look...

{dress: Converse for Target, sweater: Target, shoes: TJ Maax}

... because my friends, this is the last morning that this lady will be a nursing student ever again.
Graduation, here I come!
